I still try to write my thank you notes by hand, and for certain relatives I'll send pictures with a handwritten note instead of emailing them. But I know this is because I'm of a certain generation. I suspect as soon as my children don't have me prodding them to send handwritten notes, they'll exclusively use other, more modern ways to communicate.
